Our Easter festivities

I know this post is coming to you a few days late, but better late than never, right? Right! ;) We had SUCH a good Easter this year.. Probably the best one to date!

Here is a play-by-play of how our day went:

The night before Easter, we planted some “magic” jelly beans!

We woke up on Easter morning and ran outside to find that our magic beans had sprouted rainbow lollipops!

Yes, they slept in their dresses. Don’t judge me. :)

The girls LOVED this new tradition so we will do it as long as they get excited about it. :)
Soo glad I found this idea from See Jane Blog!

Side note: You can find the rainbow lollipop’s at Walgreen’s (year round) for $1!

To back track a little.. When the girls woke up on Easter morning, they opened their door to find..

The Easter bunny left a trail from their room, all the way to the living room to their Easter baskets. :)
We have been doing this tradition since Abby was 1.. The girls both love it!

I got their Easter “baskets” from Thirty One Gifts. Inside them were a coloring book, crayons, Easy Bake Oven refills, a pair of pajama’s, Tangled cup, mini Color Wonder set, new undies, a little La La Loopsie doll, and a tiny bit of candy (I tried to avoid it at all costs!)

Next we had some of the girls’ cousins over for an egg hunt! :)

I filled about 250 eggs and Micheal hid them throughout our front and back yard for the kiddies to find. :)

Everyone lined up at the door, waiting for Micheal to give them the OK to come out!

After the egg hunt we made sidewalk chalk paint. :) Then went to Micheal’s parent’s house for dinner. :)

It was a fun filled day and I can’t wait to do it all again next year! Maybe add a few new traditions to the mix? Do you have any Easter traditions that you LOVE and do every year? I’d love for you to share!

I am going to end this post with some pictures of my girls on Easter..
(Seperate pics, because Abby was NOT for the idea of taking a pic with Lauren..lol)

I hope everyone had as great an Easter as we did!

That’s all for today. :) Be sure to come back tomorrow for an announcement!! :)

Sidewalk chalk PAINT!

So, you may have heard of sidewalk chalk paint before. If you haven’t.. You are missing out! It is SUPER inexpensive to make, easy to whip up and kids love it!

We made some on Easter Sunday and the girls and I played with it for a long time. :)

Here are a few pictures I took with my phone using the Instagram app..

All you need to make it are the following..
-1 box of Corn Starch (You can find this in the baking section of any grocery store)
-Water
-Food coloring
-Pack of foam brushes (I got a package of about 10 for like a dollar at Walmart!)

A few things to know if you make sidewalk chalk paint:
-1 tablespoon of Corn starch per 1 tablespoon of water (We did about 6 tablespoons water and 6 of CS)
-Pour your Corn Starch into your bowl/container, then add your food coloring and water. Stir until you can no longer “feel” the Corn Starch. Trust me, you will know! The stuff is thick. :)
-I found those little containers at the Dollar Tree, 1 dollar for a pack of 5.. Can’t beat that!
-Don’t just watch your kids play with it.. Get in there and do it with them! It’s fun for adults, too. ;)

I will be back soon with a few mores posts. I was in a rut there for a bit, but I am back!
